About the program:
NAMI Washington’s Faithcare program offers faith leaders a deeper understanding of mental illness and the confidence to serve individuals and families in a collaborative manner. It is an opportunity to connect with an interfaith community interested in addressing mental health in faith communities and find support for the challenges that faith leaders may face in interfacing with mental health issues. It is an opportunity to increase skills and perspectives related to mental health with the goal of supporting your work as a faith leader.

About the team: This program is offered by a team of facilitators including people who have navigated their own mental health issues, family members who have supported loved ones through their challenges, as well as faith leaders including Rabbi Yohanna Kinberg, who has guided the formation of the program.

Rabbi Kinberg has been the Senior Rabbi and Director of Education at Kol Ami: A Center for Jewish Life in Kirkland, WA for a decade and has served the greater Seattle area as a rabbi for over 20 years. She served as part of the leadership team for Northwest Interfaith and a member of Paths to Understanding. Her dedication to education and mental health is demonstrated through her roles as a Scholar-In-Residence at Holden Village and as a current board member of the National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI) Washington.
